KENNETT SQUARE — La Comunidad Hispana has a new leader:  Alisa M. Jones was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Board of Directors announced Monday.

Jones had been serving as LCH’s Interim President and CEO since January. She had served as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer since 2013.

Chairman of the Board Paul F. Huberty said, “We are so excited to have Alisa as our President and CEO. We value her energy and passion for our mission and our community. Our entire board enthusiastically supports Alisa and together we are going to accomplish wonderful things for southern Chester County.”

Prior to joining LCH Jones was in a leadership capacity at the Delaware Health Department where she most recently was director of Maternal and Child Health. Jones is bilingual and has published on public health topics. She has an extensive background in health services administration specific to community health centers and public health.

Jones received a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University and a Master’s of Public Health from San Diego State University.

Jones was the top choice after a national search process.

“The search committee conducted a nationwide search for our next leader and after interviewing four highly qualified candidates, Alisa was our number one choice to lead LCH,” Doug Nakashima, an LCH board member since 2014 and Executive Director of the Kennett Square YMCA, said.  “I am looking forward to working with Alisa and the LCH staff.”

LCH is one of only two Federally Qualified Health Centers in Chester County and has proudly served southern Chester County for more than 40 years. With the highest quality health care and social services, LCH’s mission is to help low-income residents of southern Chester County stay healthy, build strong families and lead productive lives by providing high-quality, culturally welcoming services.

“LCH plays a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of vulnerable families in Southern Chester County,” Jones said. “I believe deeply in our mission and know that the people who bring the mission to life every day are the amazing LCH team. I feel humbled by the board’s trust in me and honored to have the full support of the LCH team as I take on this new challenge.”

LCH is in the midst of a fundraising campaign called Forty Forward to celebrate its more than 40 years of service to the community and to position the organization to expand its services throughout southern Chester County.
